Yang Yang (Pan Yang), a girl from the Northeast, fled to a village in Shandong Province due to the bankruptcy of an investment in a live broadcast company, where she lived in the only family homestay in the village, run by Aunt Sun. Aunt Sun is a housewife who runs a homestay, and she successfully dragged her son Daguang (Gong Tiankuo), who has been working in Beijing for many years and has no improvement in his career, home by crying, making trouble and hanging herself. After a series of failed blind dates, Daguang is not interested in getting married and just wants to go to Beijing. However, Aunt Sun gave a death order, not allowing Daguang to work again, but asking him to find a partner to marry. When Yang Yang was unable to resist the debt collection, she decided to find her father, Lao Yang, for help. In order to get investment, she lied that the homestay she stayed in was invested in by herself and was running it well. Lao Yang was quite happy, but he wanted to send Accountant Zhang to investigate. Faced with this new lie, Yang Yang is in a difficult situation. So, Yang Yang and Daguang made a deal: she pretended to be Daguang's girlfriend so that he could go to work smoothly, while Daguang played her boss, so that she could successfully get her father's investment. They hired villagers to act as guests and formed a makeshift team to disguise a thriving business. However, they soon discover that one lie needs more lies to cover up, and the situation gradually spirals out of control and eventually becomes out of their control.
