The world record in the men's 5000m is like a bright star, constantly being rewritten, shining with the brilliance of human beings challenging the limit. As of March 2024, the men's 5,000m world record is 12:37.35, set by Ethiopia's Bekele at an international athletics event in the Netherlands. Bekele's achievements are not accidental, he was born into a family of farmers and was influenced by the famous Ethiopian track and field runner Gebreshirasiye. As early as 2001, at the age of 19, he rewrote the world junior record for the 3,000-meter run, and since then he has achieved many great results in the 5,000-meter event. Athletes like him, with their extreme endurance, excellent running skills and unwavering belief, have been able to break records time and time again in this highly competitive event.
